What is medical equipment disposition and why do hospitals need it?
Medical equipment disposition is the managed process of removing, redeploying, selling, donating, or recycling medical devices that a hospital no longer needs. Without a formal disposition partner, hospitals risk compliance violations, lost recovery value, storage costs on idle assets, and unsafe data remaining on devices. reLink Medical handles the entire process — from pickup through final disposition — with audit-ready documentation at every step.
What is reLink360® and how does it work?
reLink360 is our managed service program and secure portal for enterprise health systems. Every asset is barcoded and tracked in real time, so you can see exactly where each device is in its lifecycle — resold, donated, recycled, or redeployed. You earn credits from recovered value that can be used to purchase equipment, fund technician training, or redeem as cash. Partner hospitals also receive quarterly business reviews with data-driven recommendations.
What is the difference between patient-ready and ready-for-refurb equipment?
Patient-ready equipment is tested, certified, and warrantied — it's ready to deploy in a clinical setting immediately. Ready-for-refurb is as-is inventory priced for biomed teams and resellers who plan to service the equipment themselves. Both tiers are sold through reLink Online, our 24/7 marketplace.
Is reLink Medical ISO 9001 certified?
Yes. reLink Medical operates ISO 9001:2015 certified processes covering our requests, approvals, pickups, and reporting workflows. This certification ensures consistent, quality-managed operations across every project and every facility. We are also a Premier Inc. contracted supplier (contract #COND-0210) and a certified Veteran-Owned Small Business.
How long does a typical equipment pickup take?
Standard pickups are scheduled within 5-10 business days of approval and typically complete in a single visit. Larger on-demand projects — such as imaging buyouts, fleet conversions, or facility closures — are scoped with your team and coordinated to minimize clinical downtime. Many customers report that projects which used to take weeks now finish in days.
What types of medical equipment does reLink handle?
We handle every major modality and manufacturer. Imaging systems (MRI, CT, PET, cath lab, linear accelerators from GE, Philips, Siemens, Canon, Varian, Elekta), surgical equipment (cameras and towers from Stryker, Karl Storz, Olympus; drills from Medtronic and Zimmer), lab analyzers (Roche, Beckman Coulter, Siemens, Abbott), and patient care equipment (monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, anesthesia systems). If your hospital uses it, we can price, remove, and redeploy it.
Where does reLink Medical operate?
reLink serves hospitals across 37 states from six distribution hubs: Twinsburg, Ohio (corporate HQ); White Marsh, Maryland (Mid-Atlantic); Hazelwood, Missouri (Midwest); College Park, Georgia (Southeast); Jefferson, Louisiana (Gulf Coast); and Lakeland, Florida (Central Florida). Our logistics network processes over 13,000 devices per month.
How does reLink support sustainability and ESG goals?
By extending device lifecycles through responsible reuse and recycling, reLink helps hospitals reduce medical equipment waste sent to landfills. Through our reLink Global Health Network and Dalton Family Foundation partnerships, we have donated over 8,000 devices worth $1.5M+ to more than 100 nonprofits across 7 countries. Every reLink360 customer receives ESG reporting showing landfill avoidance and donation impact.
How much does it cost to work with reLink Medical?
There is no up-front cost for most disposition services — reLink generates revenue through the resale of recovered equipment, and customers receive either direct payment or credits based on recovered value. Larger managed programs through reLink360 are structured for mutual value. Contact us for a tailored quote based on your facility size and equipment mix.
Who founded reLink Medical and when?
reLink Medical was founded in 2014 by A. Ray Dalton — Air Force veteran, former X-ray technician, and serial healthcare entrepreneur with decades of experience helping hospitals buy, service, maintain, and track medical equipment. Ray built reLink to be the 'easy button' for hospitals dealing with obsolete, excess, and out-of-service devices. Since 1998, 10% of his company profits have been donated to the Dalton Foundation.
